Gallon conversion chart

Use this chart when the starting unit is a US gallon. Every value is generated from the canonical measurement dataset.

The gallon column is the starting amount. Moving right converts that same physical volume into progressively smaller US liquid units, so the numbers grow.

Remember: For an unlisted gallon amount, multiply it by 4 for quarts, 8 for pints, 16 for cups, or 128 for US fluid ounces.

Values derive from GallonMan’s canonical dataset, verified 2026-09-01. US liquid, Imperial, and metric labels are intentionally explicit.

Why the columns stay exact

Every column is within the same US customary liquid system. The relationships are whole-number ratios, so values such as 1½ gallons can still convert exactly to 6 quarts, 12 pints, 24 cups, and 192 fluid ounces.

Example: an amount between rows

For 2¼ gallons, multiply 2.25 by the column factor. That gives 9 quarts, 18 pints, 36 cups, or 288 US fluid ounces.

Try a custom amount: use the liquid volume converter when your value is not in the table.
