Privacy policy

This policy describes the site as shipped with advertising and analytics disabled by default.

Information you choose to send

The contact form collects the name, email address, topic, and message you enter. Do not submit sensitive personal information. If local log delivery is used, message logs are automatically eligible for deletion after the configured retention period (180 days by default). The site owner may choose a shorter lawful period.

Technical data

The web host may process standard server logs such as IP address, request time, URL, user agent, and error data for security and reliability. GallonMan hashes the request IP for contact-form rate limiting. Old rate-limit records are periodically cleaned and the raw address is not used as a filename.

Local browser storage

The converter may remember recently selected units, and quizzes may save completion progress in local storage on your device. This is optional browser-side functionality. Clear the site’s storage through your browser to remove it.

Cookies

A strictly necessary session cookie protects the contact form against cross-site request forgery. It is not used for advertising. No analytics or advertising scripts load while advertising is off or in verification-only review mode.

Google advertising and cookies

AdSense review mode can publish a Google publisher verification meta tag and ads.txt record without displaying ad units or loading Google ad tags. Live ad delivery is a separate setting and should be enabled only after site approval and any required consent setup.

When Google advertising is enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar identifiers as a result of ad serving. Google’s advertising cookies can enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on a visitor’s activity on this site and/or other sites. Visitors can manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

If additional third-party ad vendors or networks are enabled, their use and opt-out information should be disclosed here before they begin serving. Where consent law or Google policy requires a certified consent management platform, live ad requests should remain disabled until that consent mechanism is active.

Children and educational use

No account is required and the site is not designed to collect student profiles. Children should not use the contact form to share school records, home addresses, or other personal details. A parent, guardian, or teacher can send a correction or accessibility report instead.

Contact

Use the contact form for a privacy question. The deployer should configure a working contact address before launch.
